The International Film Festival of Patmos, started in July of 2010. It is staged by the Non-Profit Organization, International Film Festival of Patmos
This 7 day event takes place within the first ten days of July. It is staged at summer cinemas that are purpose built and located at the School of Skala and the Old School of Chora. This event aims to create an institution that will make Patmos a pole of attraction for cinematographers from all over the world and a "point" for creative contact between international producers, directors, actors, critics, and established, and new Greek colleagues.
The films shown are full length feature films, short films, documentaries, both Greek and international that have won awards from renowned Festivals around the world.
In 2013 Alexander Pein, a well known director and scriptwriter, was invited by the stage team, together with the prize winner photographer Fedon Papamixail.
